Quality leather bags last for years. Over time the leather loses a bit of colour and dries out. Getting some moisture back into the leather without making it greasy is a challenge. And if you go with old school leather dyes they are likely to rub off on clothing. Using the right amount of modern water based dyes and leather lotion does a great job.
